“A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business.” – Henry Ford

This is one of my favorite quotes. It’s not only a quote; it’s a belief.

When we focus on doing good, and doing good work, we all do better – all boats rise in the tide. This idea works on two levels.

When you conduct your business, do it with high intent. Understandably we sometimes get focused on the bottom line. But when you truly intend to help, and you want to solve problems, you are of far more value. It takes a lot of pressure off of you and you develop better relationships with clients and colleagues when you are working from high intent.

More importantly, you’re not just more valuable to your clients and colleagues, but you’re more valuable to your community.

We all benefit when we work to make our community better and stronger. Communities and their organizations need leaders, volunteers, and donations. You have a lot to offer as an entrepreneur.

You have organizational skills, communication channels, a network of people, and a lot of stick-to-it-ive-ness.

Maybe it a group of young entrepreneurs who can benefit from your knowledge or the local community centre needs volunteers. Maybe there’s a problem which isn’t being addressed. Well, address it.

There’s always a need for community minded people. If you’re working from high intent people will follow.
